Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) is now looking for a senior system administrator who wants to contribute to the development and management of our IT infrastructure. In this role, you will work in a dynamic environment where research, education, and innovation are at the center, and where your expertise in IT infrastructure will be an important part of the university's success.

As a senior system administrator, you will play a central role in ensuring the operation and development of SLU's technical platforms. Your work will focus on areas such as virtualization, identity management, and IT security. You are expected to take an active role in strategic decisions, design guidelines, and participate in technical development projects that support SLU's digital transformation.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with solid experience working in complex IT environments and who is driven to create long-term solutions of high quality. You have:

• In-depth knowledge of virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V and Nutanix.
• Experience troubleshooting and solving problems in large-scale IT environments.
• Experience with automation, for example with Python and Ansible.
• Experience in Linux system administration.
• Ability to structure and document technical solutions clearly and pedagogically.

We would also like you to have experience with cloud-based solutions, particularly within Azure, and that you have previously worked with hybrid solutions and technologies such as Entra ID. Experience with databases (mssql, postgresql), monitoring tools, and commonly used open-source software is a merit.

Being able to express yourself well in both spoken and written form, in both Swedish and English, is a prerequisite for the role. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability for the position.
